Business Lights up at Pagazzi Lighting Following Re-fitting of Stores

TCP, the energy efficient lighting company, has won a new contract to supply lighting, including LED light bulbs to Pagazzi Lighting, the UK’s largest specialist lighting retailer.  As a result, Pagazzi will now be selling LEDs for the very first time in its stores across the UK and via its new website.

The collaboration with Pagazzi has already seen TCP refit 13 of the company’s largest stores, transforming point-of-sale displays and layouts.  This has made it much easier for customers to purchase the right light bulb for their fittings, with all lighting now displayed in easy to understand categories so that 25w, 40w, 60w and 100w-equivalent light bulbs can be found and purchased.

As well as supplying its own range of LEDs, TCP has also supplied a selection of CFLs and eco halogens, including hard-to-find flame tip versions that TCP manufacture.  TCP is one of only a handful of companies supplying these in an eco halogen alternative to banned incandescent bulbs, despite the style still being very popular in the home.

The new lighting layouts within each Pagazzi store now include a demonstration area to present the range of light bulbs in a variety of fixtures, showing customers just how they would look in their homes. The area enables staff to demonstrate the quality of light, energy efficiency, look and feel of each bulb.

TCP has conducted training sessions for 73 staff members so far, educating them on LED, eco halgen and CFL light bulb technology, energy efficiency, and provided fact sheets to give staff an at-a-glance guide to the features and benefits of each light bulb, and how to help customers make the right lighting choice through expert advice.

Laura Pagan, Buying Director of Pagazzi Lighting, says: “It’s great to be working in partnership with TCP.  The training has been invaluable, helping ourstaff become even more confident at helping customers to choose the right lamp.

“The changes introduced by TCP to ourpoint-of-sale displays and layouts have made a big impact making it easier and quicker for our customers to find the light bulbs they need. Thanks to this excellent guidance, sales within our lighting range have more than doubled since we began working with TCP, and our customers have been very receptive to a new range of light bulbs that are very high quality but available at a good low cost price.”

New display units at till points have also been installed, doubling the sales space and the most popular best selling lighting products have been placed within easier access of shoppers.

Jessica Parker, Commercial Director atTCP in the UK, says: “We are enjoying working with such a high profile and well-respected lighting company, and the very fact that sales have doubled as a result, is a fantastic outcome.  Our collaboration has been mutually successful, as we have offered our expertise and know how via store layout and staff training, and in turn they are offering their customers the lamps they want and increased knowledge of our products.”

TCP is one of the top manufacturers and suppliers of energy efficient lighting in the United States, with customers including Wal-Mart and Home Depot. It also has an increasingly strong presence in the UK, specialising in the development, manufacture and supply of high quality energy saving lighting. In the UK, major retail customers include Homebase and Pagazzi.
